Module content | This module explores the role of parents, families and the community in early childhood development and learning and examines the key role of ECE educators/caregivers in involving parents/families and the community in the education and care of their children. The main areas of focus in the module include theories that inform development of relationships with parents/families and the community; family and community contextual factors that impact on the lives of children; parental/community involvement strategies and programmes; and family and community support services and resources within the context of South Africa. |
